#12101 Assessment Kit
Some students require more specific support and teaching. This text contains detailed tests of reading, spelling, phonemic awareness and concepts about print, individual record sheets, and suggestions for programming. The Kit assesses both early reading and early spelling skills. It is an assumption of this program that reading and spelling are interdependent and that spelling should be taught and, therefore assessed, just as carefully as the teaching of reading.
The purpose of the assessment process is to inform teachers of the strengths and weaknesses of their students, thereby providing teachers with a basis for programming.
