#17101 Rainbow Writing Book 1: Lower Case Letters
As this handwriting program encourages children to have a memory for writing the whole movement of each alphabet letter, we do not use dot-to-dot exercises. Instead, students perform a whole letter-writing movement inside a letter shape.
The program begins with ideas for pre-writing activities and the development of the pre-requisite skills for handwriting. Practice sheets for lines, curves, circles and patterns develop fluency of the basic shapes before the alphabet letters are taught. Once students have mastered the basic movements, they are then taught the lower case letter formations at the same time that they are learning letter-symbol relationships, thus integrating the skill of handwriting with spelling and reading.
