The alphabet is taught in Carnine order. This volume covers e, p, j, and w, and y, x, qu, and z.
The reading and spelling of regular words is based on the focus alphabet letters for each set. The reading of irregular words is based on the words used in the First Books decodable readers. This organisation allows for a small, select list of new words at each step in the scope and sequence to immediately appear in a reading text.
Each set of words is carried forward to the following week’s word list, allowing for cumulative review and maintenance of prior learning. 46 pages
